The Callahan Group was formed in 2009 with the purpose of providing professional, specialized tax and financial services. Our desire was to continue working with our loyal clientele, and our intent was to treat each client and their situation with an individual focus and specific solutions. We chose the name for our firm to represent two things: the first was our large family, "our group" which is the driving force behind who we really are, and the second was to include our clients who we feel are our extended family and who treat us as theirs as well. We strive to develop long lasting relationships with our clients, helping them plan for and go through life's joys, growth, pains, setbacks and challenges. We know that every client's tax return, situation, goals, and decisions are different and want to give you our best advice and strategy to succeed.
We currently have clients who have been part of our group for more than 30 years. We have provided services to clients who live and work as far away as the extreme four corners of the U.S., some who live in other countries, and some who are in the U.S. from other countries. We work through various methods and technologies to find client solutions and provide services, no matter where the client might be at that time.
Stephen (Steve) W. Callahan, CPA
Steve has been practicing income tax and small business accounting since 1972. He is a graduate of Valdosta State University and became licensed as a CPA in 1976. He is a member of the Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants. Since relocating to Mobile, AL in 1987, Steve has provided services in the areas of individual, corporate, estate and trust taxation, including extensive work in construction contractor accounting and reviews.
Steve married his high school sweetheart, Gail, in 1973 and they are blessed with six grown children plus four by marriage and are delighted in their eleven grandchildren.
Susan K. Callahan
Susan has more than 20 years' experience in firm management, she provides client services in tax, accounting and financial services with an emphasis on small business consulting. Susan specializes in helping businesses in the areas of bookkeeping, payroll, sales tax, technology setup and training, and real world solutions to the daily challenges faced by our self-employed clients.
Susan is Steve's oldest daughter and began working tax seasons with him while she was in high school. She graduated from the University of Mobile in 2000 with a B. S. degree in Business Administration.
